Recalibrating after increasing tire size??

So the day after buying my Gladiator Rubicon I remove the stock wheels and tires and replaced them with 35's. I never had the truck reprogramed for the larger tires. I know my speedo is off a couple mph at highway speeds and my lie-o-meter probably shows inaccurate mpg's because of it. My question is should I go ahead and have the dealer reprogram it? Will it actually help the onboard computer better manage the shifting? Was wondering if my mpg's would actually increase from it. Dealer wants $125 for the job. Currently on dash mpg reads 12.6 towing bass boat and 15 rolling empty

It will help your transmission shift points also. I went from the stock 31's on a sport to 35's and it felt like a slug driving around with 4.10'S. I used a Tazer and set the correct size and the truck drives normal again.

Not to mention your odometer will be permanently off and depending on how long you stay with the wrong tire size it may be off by a large number that you will never be able to correct.

I just did the same thing on my Mojave, before I had it recalibrated, it was showing about 15.5 MPG. Since it was done, I’m back to about 18. I had the dealer do it and they programmed it to 34.5 tires, because that’s the size BFG shows for the KO2’s. I think it was well worth having the dealership do it as it now has a record of it being done in case there are any issues down the road. Just my 2 cents
