Switching from $63\text{ lb}$ to $80\text{ lb}$ $37\text{-inch}$ tires will significantly worsen the driving dynamics of your JTR with $4.10$ gears, even though the diameter remains the same. The $68\text{ lb}$ increase in rotational mass (or $17\text{ lbs}$ per corner) creates far greater inertia, leading to noticeably slower acceleration, increased "gear hunting" on the highway (making $8\text{th}$ gear much harder to hold), and added stress on your transmission. While the $4.10\text{s}$ are currently adequate for your $63\text{ lb}$ tires, the jump to $80\text{ lb}$ will likely make regearing to the recommended $4.88$ ratio a necessary upgrade if you want to restore smooth, consistent daily drivability.
Hello all. Currently I’m running 37” c load ko2’s which are listed at 63lbs, I’m looking at a used set of 37” Baja boss at’s that are listed at 80lbs each. So 68lbs total increase in tire weight.

im still on the factory 4.10’s (JTR) and currently happy with how it drives. I’m worried by adding that much weight it’s going to make regearing more of a necessity.
I see 8th gear currently, and have no complaints about the performance. Just worried it’s going to impact it quite a bit.
from my understanding diameter has more effect than weight in terms of needing to regear. But 68 more lbs seems hard to ignore and I find it hard to imagine it won’t effect it to a decent amount.
