Remote start

I am TOTALLY backing you @Gvsukids up on this tried it this morning. Remote started probably running 10 min used phone to unlock it opened all 4 doors walked around to passenger side grabbed a little bag of trash walked to garage throwed trash away walked back took video walked to passenger side shut door walked to driver side shut rear door got in shut the door sat my lunch down and wait a few seconds then hit the start button , dropped in Drive and off I went. Never shut off at all.

I would really love to figure out what is needed to get both my wife's factory remote start on her 2018 JLU Sahara and my 2020 Gladiator Overland with VIPER DS4 remote start working this way. Maybe there is a TSB or similar software upgrade/mod from the dealership because as far as my installer said is this is Jeep's fault for doing it this way and there is nothing he can do. Both vehicles will be killed inside 5mins if all doors are opened, closed, and once I try to get in the driver seat the engine has shut off. Absolutely annoying. Do either of you have anything plugged into the SGM?? Tazer MINI or Superchips Flashcal which both have a gateway bypass type module in them. I can't see how they would affect anything but maybe?? What is even more bizarre is I can drive either one around the block after starting them with FOB inside and then if FOB is taken out....found this out once when I dropped wife off at front of grocery store and she went in with the key and I drove over to Goodwill to drop donations off and came back and waited for her without turning the Jeep off. Unrelated but still...

Did you buy the dedicated remote start module with the viper, or is it just triggering the Oem remote start? Keep in mind I didn’t install mine, so that might not be a thing.

Mine on the Gladiator uses the LOCK button x3 presses on the OEM fob to start it. Wife has the actual button on her FOB that she has to press x2. I didn't install mine but my understanding was there was just one unit/harness that splices info factory connectors. Plug and play.

Mine will do the three lock thing as well, and the factory remote start still works with its normal button. But I always do it from the app on my phone.

Thats good to hear. Now if I could convince the installer it can be done somehow cause someone else isn't having same scenario as me...
