Yep, it is a slippery slope. One that I tend to slide down all too easily.Exactly, it can get to a point really fast where you have to start looking at shocks, driveshafts, steering links, track bars ................................... Jeep makes it easy to fall into the rabbit hole. I'd love a bumper and winch but realistically, will i ever even need it? i had one on my wrangler and i don't think i ever actually needed it. Still want it though. I see teraflex sell Adjustable control arms too. It is so easy to go overboard.
I like the TeraFlex Alpine arms. They are stout, they use rubber bushings which help with NVH, delivering a smoother ride, and they use a clamp adjuster instead of a locknut. It is way easier to use the clamp on the adjustment then it is the typical adjuster with the locknut.
I have a full set of the TeraFlex Apline arms on our JKU. I probably should have gone with them for the lower fronts on the JT. But I went with MetalCloak lower front arms. I figure it is harder to get that locknut set, but once set it should be a one and done deal.
But for a small lift you can get away with lower front arms that are just a little longer, and that is easier. You don't have to worry about getting the length right of tightening that locknut. And Mopar even make a set. JKS also offer a fixed length set. If you want adjustable I do like the TeraFlex Alpine option, as mentioned.
My winch experience is pretty much like yours, I think the only thing I have used it for is to pull some plants out of the ground. We have it because we tend to wheel by ourselves in remote places and want to have it in case of an emergency. But so far we have never needed it.
