TLDR- We both made it. The stock sport crunched more on the skids and diffs, but had no trouble getting to the summit. It's amazing where these things can go. The Rivian that went with our group to the campsite didn't want to get on the rocks, so it stayed behind.

Trail: Tip Top Mountain near Big Bear, CA.

Right on. Those are great pics too.

As someone who’s new to off roading, I find that I’m the biggest limiting factor when I go out. It drives my son nuts when he goes out with me, but I’m still learning. My Gladiator’s capabilities go beyond what I’m comfortable with thus far.

We were into the rockcrawling thing 15-20 years ago….. It’s all about the DRIVER. Driving skills, knowing your rig, & being a bit fearless. Along with that…… having experienced spotters and willing to TRUST and LISTEN to the directions of those spotters.

We’d seen bone stock jeeps, toyotas, and others do things you’d never imagine.

Our neighbor had a Ford F450 Duellie Double Cab Long Bed truck that we took out on the trails. No rocks…..but tight trails. He got high centered many times (he had a beaufitul front & rear hydraulic winch setup). He was smiling from ear to ear for a week! Loved seeing that beast out there…..
