Hi all,

Recently decided to give up on my Bronco order and commit to the Gladiator. I've pretty much determined I'm going to get either a Mojave or a Rubicon Diesel. I've driven a bunch of different models, and I love both the ride of the Mojave and the power of the Diesel. Dream version would be a diesel Mojave but unfortunately Jeep is dumb and I can't get both.

If I get the Mojave, plan is 2" AEV spacer lift, geo correction brackets, quick discos, and 35s or 37s, since it's already lifted a bit and has those great shocks. If I went Rubicon Diesel, I'd want a good 2.5" complete lift to make it ride as good as it can. Probably either Teraflex or Clayton 2.5 lift, with 35s or 37s.

My question to you guys is what is the best all-around shock system that I can pair with the Rubicon and a 2.5" lift to get a close to Mojave ride? Outside of getting 2.5" reservoirs directly from Fox to the tune of $3000 for all four. I know people have good things to say about the Falcon 3.3s, but how is that as an all around shock for on-road, as well as high speed and low speed off road?

I personally have the falcon 3.3’s and ridden in vehicle’s offroad with the fox shocks. Here’s my personal thoughts…

The falcon 3.3’s are a slightly less comparable than to the fox 2.5’s but better than the standard fox 2.0’s. The falcons do have the the quick adjustment to go from soft to firm (aka 1 or 3 setting) or 8 settings to go from soft to firm (on setting 2). The shocks are a 2.25” with the resi as you know. I’ve ran these shocks on both a JKU build and my current JT, for the money, they are a great shock but are not a shock that you can really set for low speed/high speed offroad.

The fox 2.5’s definitely hold more fluid than the falcons but also allow you to control the low speed and high speed valving on the shock… something the Mojave shocks don’t let you do. But with the control you can dial in the ride even more than the falcon 3.3’s so you don’t have to get out and change setting when you want to go offroad or be on road .

I say the fox are definite upgrade from the falcons and are worth every penny. They will be on my list of upgrades later on… maybe even the 3.0’s too

oh and here how I have the shocks in order from good to best. Fox 2.0’s, falcon 3.3’s, fox 2.5’s, fox 3.0’s.
Good luck on your decision.
