I finished up my winch install on my Rubicon. I went with the Warn winch plate, and warn VR EVO 10-S winch. Install went well. I used the mount plate from CentralAK to mount a disconnect switch to cut power to the winch. I was going to go with the warn solenoid hooked to an Aux switch, but the solenoid was heavy was looking for a good way to mount it. Decided to go with the CentralAK and cutoff switch, seemed simple and dependable. I also used the Rough County Winch hook isolator so it doesn't bang up my bumper or hawse, it was a simple and cheap solution.

Nicely done, looks good. I also put the Warn winch mount plate (part # 101255) on my 2024 RubiconX this afternoon. I will be using the Warn solenoid kit hooked up to my AUX3 switch when I wire it up this week. Warn is slipping on QC, they only included one zip tie with my mount plate hardware kit. Fortunately I have some spare long heavy duty zip ties on hand that I was able to use. Badland Apex 12K is mounted, just need to wire it up, mount the fairlead and put the bumper back on, secure the fog light wiring that they tell you to unclip, and put the guard plate for the sway bar disconnect back on, hopefully tomorrow.

I wrapped a couple layers of good electrical tape over the synthetic line on your thimble as dirt and UV are bad and the sun will beat on just that little critical section in your thimble.
Nice install…..Jack

Yeah I only had one as well, but like you had plenty of ones in the garage.

Also there were no bolts that would fit through the hawse, filler plate bumper and winch plate included. Ended up getting 2"x1/2 stainless steel to make it work.

That was my only glitch with my install. I had to go out to the store for longer bolts. Looks good and I like the disconnect.
