Honestly, a turbo straight 6 is probably going to make a ton more sense in the Jeeps anyhow and being I6 will be a dream of smoothness.

If they brought an I6 turbo Gladiator I would def trade in for it.

I can't see them selling a Ram without a Hemi. I think they are only talking about cars.
Today's V8's are far less complex than turbo 6s.
True. But they are much much closer to a turbo 6 in complexity than they are to what's in my '66 Chevy. A simple car can not be purchased anymore. you might as well embrace the complexity and get the benefits. (excellent power with very good fuel efficiency)

Now throw in a light weight non-plug in hybrid system, like that in the F150 that can provide an extra 100 ft-lbs of torque at low RPM, before the turbo spools up and you have quite a combination.

Remember that something like the 4xe system with a 17 kwh battery is going to be hundreds of pounds heavier than a non-plug in hybrid system like ford uses on the F150 which uses about a 1 kwh battery. No battery only driving. Just suplemental torque at 0 rpm.

It appears official that Dodge will soon kill the Charger, Challenger and the Hellcat engine:

https://www.gearpatrol.com/cars/a38332106/dodge-charger-challenger-canceled/

The comments from that article suggest Dodge is killing a money-maker. I'm not so sure. I haven't analyzed all the numbers, but a friend of mine is a retired Ford engineer and he told me Dodge doesn't sell enough cars, as in sedans, to make it worth their while. He expected the Dodge brand to go away completely with Fiat selling off the Jeep and RAM brands. This may sound extreme, but not long after I had that discussion there was talk of a Chinese company attempting to buy Jeep and RAM from Fiat with the plan to shoot Dodge in the head.

I have also read a few editorials also saying there's really no point for Dodge to exist anymore. Dodge had high hopes for the new Dart, but that was an epic fail. So perhaps Dodge is circling the drain. But I don't see RAM eliminating V8 pickups any time soon. Those do sell pretty well.

I'm a Ford Guy, have been for decades.

My last vehicle was an Eco-Boom.

I recall towing, a load well within the manufacturer's specs, in the summer, in the mountains, and the computer disabled the turbo.

It was UGLY.

Dashboard flashing all kinds of idiot lights.

My latest purchase selection, I wanted naturally aspirated, no forced injection BS.

I bought a Gladiator.
