Ever since I bought my Gladiator back in May I have been loving my experience except the sound system quality and the wind noise on long road trips has been a but of a hindrance. To fix my sound system issue I replaced my entire system from the ground up. While happy I knew there was still room for improvement. After hours of research I concluded the fiberglass hardtop was the cause of my highs and mids being to shrill while not being clear enough at higher volumes. So I got brave one day after a few beers and went down to home depot to get some supplies. About $65 worth of Rustoleum Spray-liner and a 12 pack later I was ready to open up Pandoras box by spray lining my hard top and installing some Stinger Roadkill I had laying around. After a 10 hour day of prep and spraying my project was done. What a difference it made in interior ascetics an all black hard top makes! Looks so much better and doesn't make my interior look so cheap.
Now on to the overall review. While road noise is still a little loud it dod help tone down the wind noise a good amount. While not a night and day difference the wind rush is not as bad and people can hear me much better making calls over the ucconect system. The biggest different was how big of a difference it made acoustically. My sound system really came to life and I am loving my sound system. Everything is clear and the highs aren't as shrill anymore. I can now crank it up without it sounding hold due to the fiberglass hardtop. I plan on going over the bedliner with a coverking liner in the future but after being on a waiting list for 6 months I decided to put that mod on hold for the time being. If you are unsatisfied with your sound system it's definitely worth the investment. However if it's overall road noise you're chasing its not a noticeable difference by itself even though my calls aren't muffled by windnoise that's more so due to the bedliner helping then sound deadening. As far as temperature control I can't tell a difference.
