Said goodbye to my Gladiator Willys.

I have the base system and replaced my sound bar speakers with Alpine refresh yesterday. It’s a clear indication that the speakers were lacking. Now I can hear how much better they are than the dash speakers that are still stock base. I like bass as well, but don’t have much without a sub. But I don’t want to lose storage space. I’m pretty sure the furthest I’ll go would be to swap the upper dash speakers.

On the Willys, I lost half of the under seat storage space when I installed a 6" Bass Tube and amp. The little sub does help quite a bit. For the dash speakers I went with Infinity Reference and it improved the sound a lot.

You could gain storage space if you install a swing out box in the bed. This box looks almost identical to the Rigged Ridge.

I wouldn't trade my Willys for a Rubicon. The Willys came pretty well equipped, at least the way I like it. However, now that I know that there is a Rubi club I just might have to reconsider.

Honestly, the Willys name should have been used for the top of the line Wrangler/Gladiator since the name carries more pedigree, historical significance and nostalgia.
