When I first got the truck, my wife though all I was adding was side steps and maybe a bed cover. Well obviously that only got me started! Now she knows I'm always searching for what's next and that I'll be coming to her saying I want to spend $100 on this or that goes with it.

I'd consider mine a "budget build" but all these little things sure add up

Not much. She usually just comes out to the garage, takes a look at whatever I’m doing at the time, shakes her head and goes back inside… ?
Go with my solution and buy her her own Jeep. My wife spent all weekend working on her JL and steals my quadratech magazines.

My wife told me to order my Gladiator with the upgraded rims. When it came in, she said you should get aftermarket rims and 35s because those upgraded OEM rims would look perfect on her Wrangler.
Keeper for sure!

Yeah, this is problematic. In addition to my 2020 JTR which is set up for overlanding, I have a 2016 JKUR and my wife has a 2018 JKUR (because she hated sharing the driving duties on trails and wanted her own). There are no boundaries related to me being able to mod the 2016 or the 2020; however, every mod is "evaluated' and she will tell me "I want that mod done to mine". So many things I get to buy and install twice...and the installs on her JKUR are always better because I've learned all the wrong things when installing on mine. LOL

I told my wife that I did not plan any upgrades on my JT. She just rolled her eyes and walked off. Last month she did complain that the JT was getting all the upgrade money. Said I was neglecting her TJ.

Kind of like my wife - she just does not understand.

Wranglers/Gladiator are great products for Jeep because of all the customization and aftermarket available for it. It encourages people to buy lots accessories from Mopar and other vendors and thus invest time, money and emotion into their vehicle.
It always surprises me car companies dont release more customization stuff for their vehicles, seems like low hanging fruit for easy money. Most people only want cosmetic crap anyways so wouldn't take much more engineering. The motorcycle world is much better with this.
As a car company, I would engineer a certain degree of modularity into all my vehicles in order to get people buying all the stuff they imagine themselves doing.

I did not know I needed her permission.
Yeah, I broke that habit early on with my wife critiquing my purchases with my earn money when I had her needs already covered.

Nice its on my list of things to do. My favorite mod so far was repainting that strange shade of red dashboard in mine
