Hmmm, I am wondering then about having one retrofit - if I can find someone to do the chore.
Although the way things are going, I'll be off weight/lifting/straining restrictions by the time anything happens.
I sort of doubt the cables needed for power seats would be there in a JLU that wasn't intended to get them. It would involve air bags, seat heat power supply and the power for the seat operations.
Still, there's no auto transfer case - but she says she can learn to deal with that - I guess don't drive if the snow and ice is patchy?

Why not see right now if she can deal with the transfer case in yours? She probable isn't going to be able to do it on the fly, but maybe pulled over. At least to engage it. They seem to be easier to disengage.

I have the selectrac auto transfer case. Getting into 4HA is a breeze - pull back and it just goes in. No messing with being in neutral or anything, simply slide it back.
The other t-case I had on my 2020 was not to easy to shift in and out of 4H
She would absolutely have to stop, lean over and use her left hand, to do it. Her right hand has no real grip and her right arm is short with no elbow.

I don't see any worthwhile way to retrofit the power seats in something this new, given the junk integrated into them.

Sounds like sacrifices will need to be made, or buy an entirely different (more accommodating) vehicle.

Quite annoying.

I've wondered about buying one with everything, such as a Rubicon that's otherwise loaded, body color roof and fender flares, 33" tires, active safety group, towing, whatever, and then finding a shop that would add in the power seats.
That would give her the better cargo area (she always complains about the big 8" battery shelf in the back cargo area), all of the newer air bags, steering, auto-high beams, body color parts - if all they lack is the power seats, surely there's someone out here who can add them.
May have to hire a build done.
Why not just add power seats to the existing one?

I bet power seats could be added.

Yes, into any 24-26 model since they came out in some levels.
But - the connectors will not be there, the wiring.
Otherwise, the 2024 models at specific levels came with them so there is likely a wiring diagram, and maybe even harnesses out there.
I suspect we could get a 2026 Rubicon and add power seats - the issue is the transfer case, and she'd either have to pull over or treat it like it was just a 2 wheel drive vehicle.
The only way to get that transfer case really sucks - you have to order the most top of the line model, no other choices. that's crazy since Sahara owners are most likely to use or need such a thing.
If the Sahara would come with the SelecTrac, I'd say go that route and then move to 4.10s and 33" tires and Rubicon flares - done.

She really misses the things her prior Jeeps had, and which mine have had - auto high beam, adaptive cruise (she's watched me use it and is fascinated by it and said "If I get that, show me how to use it") Truck traffic here on the interstates sucks. they are going every speed possible, and some keep changing speed, so you either can't use cruise, or have to keep tweaking the speed on it.
And there's the NAV - it's superior in the 24 and later. That TomTom, there's just no comparison! The prior NAV system looks even MORE lame than before when compared to the new stuff.
I rarely use nav on my phone since getting my 25 - sometimes I do, but I skip android auto most of the time now.
There's the improved steering they claim to have added, among things I'm sure I've forgotten - oh, the battery shelf in the 23 takes a lot of space when packing for her retreats.

I meant aftermarket seats.

They won't have the air bag system and if we're to have someone install something, I'd rather it be mostly plug and play - bolt right in, and proper wiring be available (not to mention being able to control the heated seat from the Jeep)

I find the Jeep seats VERY comfortable.

I believe they probably have the plug in under the seat . Just would need the other seat with the electric motor dodads.

I haven't dug into it yet, but since the plan is to hopefully keep this Gladiator a really long time, I would like to track down a factory service manual for it. I'm guessing that would give a good idea of what is there and what isn't, and what can be easily added by the more mechanically inclined types (like the passive entry system).

It won't talk about how to add or modify, only to diagnose and repair what's already there.
If you don't have passive entry, the manual won't help adding it.
They've never been about modifying or even helping to add anything, just to test and repair what exists.
You might get some clues as to which wires do what, and troubleshooting why it doesn't work after you added it, but for adding, you'll still need places like this.
The manual will assume all of the factory settings for making that work will be there, they'll concentrate on other things.

No, the manuals, schematics, troubleshooting guides and parts diagrams will not tell you how to mod anything.
But combine them with a working brain, and they can be a huge help in planning and implementing modifications.
But I would mainly like those things because I plan to keep this long after the warranty is up, and I generally trust myself more than anyone else to fix something the right way instead of the easiest way.

Right - with a bit of critical thinking, you can determine if you have the wires, the modules needed and so on.
Option A is powered by this wire from the BCM, this is the color, it goes to this connector - do I have that or not?
