Yeah, sadly you experienced the reason the admins here INSIST on a picture of the item with the user name on a piece of paper with the item.

It's also the reason I set it up so that no selling could be done until a member reached 30 posts on the AMC forums. People come in a bitch about the rules and I tell them - if you came in only to sell stuff and not help others out who have questions - take your wares to fakebook or craigslist.

I contacted Venmo and they said they could only clawback if I sent wrong amount or to wrong person.

Tell them you meant to send the money to me and I will lie for ya.

Obviously too late now, but if you're buying stucf in the future, see the circled option. That will give Venmo the ability in the future to refund you, but it's not on by default.

I had a similar experience. Was looking to purchase a diamondback cover for a JT, posted a wanted ad, received a few stating they have one, but when I wanted to video call got ghosted.
