In my experience nothing yields better results than disassembling something, prepping, and painting, so that's what I've always stuck to.

And while I've worked with plastidip and hate the stuff, I've got nothing against some quality vinyl! Did you just apply the vinyl then trim into the edges? It seems more tedious to me with the compound right corners on something so small than just taking it apart.
I wasn't knocking your method. I was just like someone else. Just didn't understand why in the beginning. No harm, no foul.

But.... wrapping them wasn't that hard at all. $10 wrap from Amazon was all that ai had to buy. I had everything else. Alcohol, heat gun, and xacto knife. Only took me about 45 minutes. And it lasted for almost 3 years until a couple days ago when I completely debadged the tailgate.

I see the point.

My Mojave is going to be High Velocity and I'm not a fan of Orange. So I'll do the same thing with gloss black.
