Shock extensions with taller coil springs?

I currently have a 3.5” lift with falcon 2.1 shocks rated for 2-3.5” of lift. I’m going to be upgrading to the evo 4.5” HD coil springs and was wondering if it would be possible to just add shock extensions to my current shocks until I’m able to upgrade my shocks as well? Has anyone done this or have experience with a similar setup?

You could try cycling your suspension and see if the shocks hang or bottom out at all at max flex. The biggest thing I'd actually worry about are the brake lines, unless you already went with longer lines..
