There is a method in which a person or people can flood individuals with information and that information could be a half truth, the whole truth or falsehood, but the intent is to incite a reaction or feeling from the person or target audience. It's been going on 24/7 for a long time now and so my post is just a feeler to gage how well this has worked on a small segment of the population. It's not a joke, Iam truly curious how others feel about this topic.
Well based on my response you can see how I feel..

You do realize there is already a tax on mileage driven as well as a tax on the fuel efficiency of your vehicle right?

It's called the gas tax you pay on the fuel you use.

So in answer to your questions; We already have one.

In answer to your second question; should EV have a mileage tax? That is an interesting one, yes they will probably need to be taxed in some way on that. The gas tax in theory pays for most road work, state and fed. If ever car was EV, those highway and road funds would need to come from some place.

Probably a bigger Q is 100% ev like tesla feasible? Is there enough lithium available for the batts, is the waist and pollution from the mining, creation and disposal of the batteries better or worse than IC engines? Or is a hybrid system actually the best?

Is the intention to drop the federal tax on gasoline then??? I highly doubt it.
Tax per mile for the pure electric vehicles for the roads.
Tax per mile would overwhelmingly hurt the distance worker and the retired travelers...
