I just moved into my first house. I was previously living at my parents place, and my grandparents place about 50/50 and always had a garage to park in. My new place is a single wide, and I live by myself so I can basically do whatever I want with the place. I'm looking at ideas on a carport/car canopy. I want a stand alone structure with room for just my Gladiator since I don't have any future plans to get a second vehicle. Do you have any recommendations on a particular brand or material I should look for? Any good or bad experiences?
Thanks.

I had a Shelterlogic structure for a long time for my boats, it held up well, they have different levels of material, I had the strongest/thickest one. I believe they make carports also that are open on the ends, probably be a good solution, they also don’t require any building permit. Mine was 42’x14’x14’ this is a picture of it just be fore it was taken down after about 10 years of use.

Palram makes some that may work. They're available at Home Depot and Amazon. The one I was looking at was around $3500, but that was a while ago.

I added a carport when I remodeled a house we bought. With slab, lumber, standing seam metal roof, other materials, and increased prices, I got it for the low price of about $70k.

Have you looked into modular steel buildings? They can be erected fairly quickly and offer tons of room for the price.

I had a carport at my old house. And it was a fine design solution. It looked like a huge open space when the car was not there and didn’t ruin the view.
It was more of a patio roof than a carport because the car was usually parked in another place. I didn’t want a garage because it’s too big and I didn’t have a place for it. I also didn’t want a closed space to ruin the view of my property. There is a good auto repair shop down the road, and if I need to repair my car, I usually go to them. So I don’t have to do anything at home.
That’s why a carport was a good solution for me at the time. Unfortunately, I cannot find a good picture of it.
