I don't use the GPS so it didn't play into my choice of antenna. I don't think my antenna will pick up GPS. If that is a concern you can get the MOPAR SiruisXM/GPS antenna with cable for about $100.So I'm under the impression that the OEM antenna is a combination Sirius and GPS for the nav system. Are any of the aftermarket antennas set up like this and are they an improvement in reception? I'm unsure of the route to go. Seen the visor mounting and a mounting in the grill at the base of the windshield. I've seen jacking in at the radio head and at the cable at the stock antenna location.
Best spot is probably on top of my RTT but really not sure of a good cable routing to do that.
Haven't read anything on how good the reception is at the windshield base……
Years ago I used to be on Above Top Secret which is dedicated to the tin foil hat crowd. It's not that I don't believe in all that stuff anymore it's just that I realized in the big scheme of things the government would really have no interest/reason to care where I go. I'm pretty darn boring. If they want to track my trips to Trader Joe's then let them have at it.I know there are some forums out there, must have a tinfoil hat to partake. They want to delete tracking ability to the extreme.......I can understand their view......but with biometrics, cameras, cell phones.......you're tracked more then you know. Hell, even if you turn your phone off, its not really off.
Cyber Security is my game/employment........... think 1984 and the movie, Terminator........that's no shit where AI is going.........more then likely within our lifetime, no later then our kids.

The only reason I don't need a GPS is that .... I don't need a GPS. Before I go somewhere I just stare at a map for about 5 minutes and memorize all the main streets, intersections, count the blocks from the offramp to the next turn, and the places I need to go and then I go there. My wife, who depends on GPS, is always flabbergasted when I do that. But before GPS I was always too lazy to write down directions. Seemed easier just to memorize a map. And you never lost the directions.
