slight grinding in my rear differential

So i have a low speed intermittent grinding in my rear end , so far the garage has replaced carrier, pinion and axle bearings and it is doing the same thing. Anybody have any ideas what this could be ? This is turning into a nightmare and very expensive. They also hooked up the chassis ears to it and for some reason its coming from the drivers side axle near the bearings. Everything is brand new twice now. Very frustrated !

I hate to think it, but it sounds like a miss-diagnosis then. You didn’t give many details or relevant data, so it’s hard to guess. The Dana 44 is a good unit, even with lots of miles and hard abuse. Try the silly stuff now, like bent dust shields and slipped brake bad shims.

If you have huge prepubescent clown-rounds on it or drive it like a Raptor, it could be anything.

I just drive it normal . Just wondering if anybody else ran into this issue

What all was replaced bearing wise? The tail bearings in these axles is problematic. Was the R&P replaced with a factor gear/unit or are you running aftermarket gears?

Rear axles are pretty simple, Pinion Bearings, carrier bearings, axle bearings, and breaks are all that really moves. If those were all checked and good, I'd look to the driveshaft. Unless the gears are REALLY bad, they wouldn't result in a grinding noise, more or a hum/whine/UFO sound depending on what the issue is.
