I ordered some of these a couple days ago off etsy and I'm pretty pleased with them and also getting the silver keyhole covered up. It's been bugging me for a while. If you got a Base sport and are looking for a way to hid the silver then these are it. It says you can paint them and I may do that in a flat black because they are kinda in the raw right now but still look better than the silver.

No they snap on over the key hole on the outside. Super easy and they won't come off. I may paint mine with a flat paint but I'll try some tire shine or back to black on them first and see how they look. I'm happy with them though. Definitely recommend them.

Being from the Southeast, I had no experience with Nebraska weather. So, it was a warm day and I decided to wash the Charger. The next morning I was using my lighter to heat the key as I pressed it into the door lock. Almost missed the "not 15 minutes early, you're late" roll call at Offutt.

What's the difference between the Snapcaps and these? They were on Etsy too. They look like they might be lower profile?

https://www.etsy.com/listing/913330680/the-originals-santis-caps-18-21-jeep?ref=hp_rv-2&frs=1

This is the last thing I need to complete the blackout look...finally got all the satin black badges and lugnuts.
I'm not sure the ones I got on mine are pretty low profile I had to get the ones that are open in the middle so I can use my key because I don't have keyless entry but I've been real pleased with them. I ended up painting mine because they were starting to fade a little bit and I didn't feel like keeping on putting armor All and stuff on them

Night and day difference... You want the SnapCaps. SnapCaps snap on and do not have to be double side taped on... They are custom fit...

I have seen both offerings... I have the SnapCaps and for good reason... 8-) I'm a very picky, OCD kinda guy... 8-)

I've had mine for months... No fading at all and they stay put. YES, I keep them protected with 303 Protectorant.. They held up great in NY this Winter...

Yeah for clarity I in no way meant that they faded just to be fading or looked bad, what I meant was I put some mother's back to black on them and in about 3 weeks they started turning back to the original color but with a bit of haze from the Mothers polish. I just decided that I'd hit them with some flat paint and be done with it, now they look great and should look great for a while. I'm pleased with them

So after going back and forth, I went with the Santi originals. I contacted the seller w/ a few questions, and he answered them all very promptly...he was really responsive. I went with these for 2 primary reasons - they were made out of Kydex (vs ABS), and they were already "finished" and textured (I didn't want the raw look, bother with periodic plastic restorer, or paint them). The finish and texture is such a good match for the door handles, and the fit is spot on. They snapped right on; I didn't use the adhesive/tape. I finally have all the chrome blacked out on the truck. Just wanted to give some feedback on this other version for anyone that is curious.

I went with the SnapCaps and got some Mopar FC red paint to body match them. The lighting here is bad, they do match the actual paint. I cleared over top after painting them.

You might want to remove and use double sided tape with the Santi's...

Before I went with the SnapCap offering, I reached out to the guy that sells Santi's Caps.... I mentioned to him I had read reviews which mentioned the Santi's were falling off..... that they did not fit tightly and the provided tape inside was failing... not doing the job..

His reply to me stated..... that he very clearly mentions in his instructions that the locks had to be cleaned with alcohol and then and only then to fasten his caps with the double sided tape on the inside of them.. He said use of tape was a must...

Anyway, I ended up going with the Snap Caps because they snap on.. snap on tight as heck and no double sided tape is necessary.. and they are less expensive to boot.

I wanted to be able to remove (with plastic pry tool) if I ever needed to (no start situation) and did not want to be fooling with double sided tape.. or worry about losing..

So far thousands of miles and many months and the SnapCaps are still in place..

Anyway, yes the Santi's look good but you may want to use the tape...

Sant's instructions:
Capture.JPG
Yes... the instructions do say that. I messaged him about it and they are meant as reinforcement. I can only speak for my experience, but these caps aren't going anywhere. They snap right on as well, and it's a super tight fit. I wouldn't be able to get them off right now without one of my panel tools.

Fwiw, I messaged the other seller too...and he *also* recommended double sided tape for his snap caps. He just doesn't provide it.

I hear ya..... just wanted to mention the reviews that said they did not fit tight and were falling off, etc.. Figured I'd save you some grief.

I know my Snap Caps (no tape) aren't going anywhere.... I can testify to that..

Oh, did just check the SnapCaps ad... it says "Don't be fooled by inferior products, that are held on with adhesive "

Also, I had messaged the SnapCaps, guy when shopping around and he said if I was concerned, to ace my bet so to speak... to use double sided tape or a dab of flexible epoxy.. He told me, and I found out that Snap Caps, snap on so friggin tight... they are not going to fall off... and no I did not use tape or flexible epoxy..

Anyway, no point saying anymore.. Your Santi's look great... I'm very surprised that more guy/gal's aren't go with lock covers.. Look great and functional!

It's all good man. I spent way too much time thinking about keyhole covers. I mean...they're $20 ??‍♂
