I bought a new in the box premium soft top on craigslist last fall outside of the dates that were questionable which I dont recall at the moment. I installed it after work today. The install went well, I haven’t taken it on the highway yet but I did get up in the mid 50’s on local roads and it sounded fine. My only concern about the install is that the passenger side latch at the windshield does not really have much tension when latched. I’m guessing as the top stretches a bit it will be even less. Is there a way to tighten this? Has anyone had a similar issue? Any advice is appreciated.
thanks

I had this issue and I drove it for about a year till recently in some high winds the latch gave way on the freeway and I'm not sure how the top didn't destroy itself but got lucky. I took it to dealership and asked them to adjust them. They did the adjustment which made the latch much tighter but I supposed it will loosen again at some point. I had seen a writeup someplace about adjusting them but I can't remember where

I kind of almost wish there was a safety hook just in case the latches give way in high winds

Looking through old threads it sounds like a mixed bag of latches replaced or adjusted by the dealer. I just made an appointment for an oil change and will have them look then. If anyone knows how to adjust them please let me know

Update. They told me it needs to be replaced and that Jeep won’t cover it without a receipt of purchase for the soft top from me. The soft top is new, never installed, out of An unopened box But purchased on Craigslist. They said 200-300 to have them replace it. I passed for now. I’m going to see if I can find some info about adjusting the latch I have. Pretty disappointed about Jeep’s position to be honest.
