Got a question for anyone with a soft top and a light/roll bar - I've had a Black Horse bar for a while with my hard top, and I picked up a soft top (which I have yet to install). I'm wondering, how much I'll need to move the bar back to make room for the top when it's down.

Thanks in advance.

I've always had the soft top with my Blackhorse and KC lights. Its a few inches off the front of the bed (can measure tomorrow if you want exact dimensions). I set it up so it barely clears the lights when open. I also added spacers to get the lights higher up on the mounts as they tend to hit the bow just above the rear door (hinge point) in the soft top and not let all the light shine in front of the jeep.

I didn't want it so far back that it looked silly with rear window and side panels off with the soft top still on.
The 2nd pic is before I installed the larger spacers on the KC bolts to move the lights higher up. I can take updated pics tomorrow if you want

That's awesome, thanks mt.

I'd say if you can measure the space between the front of the bar base and the front of the bed (pic below), that would be perfect. I'd also be interested in details on the light spacers - size, where you sourced - as I'm looking to add 3-4 KC Daylighters to the bar just as you have.

Thanks again, I really appreciate the assistance! (I think you and I spoke about the bar installation a couple of years ago when I first got it)

I've been trying to find an "easy remove" chase bar with a quick disconnect for lighting, but I haven't found anything. I switch the hard top and soft top in the winter and summer and I do not want to disassemble the entire chase bar when I do that. So I'm following this thread!

Here are the measurements. Its exactly the width of the tape (1") from flat edge of bed rail protector to front of roll bar base. Or 1 5/8" from the pointed edge of the bed rail protector. Or about 1 1/4" to 1 3/8" from your mark to the front of the base
Hop this helps

Keep us posted on what you end up with. I forogt you asked about the KC mounts. To clear the soft top, I ran the outer 2 on the back bar canted towards the front of the jeep but because the rear brake light is in the rear tube in the middle, I had to mount the center one on the front tube, but reverse the mount so its cantered towards the rear of the jeep

Here they are. They are sold in pairs and singles. 3" diameter tube

Let me measure the spacers for the lights. You're very limited if you go with KC because the bolt is captured unless you want to swap it out somehow. I want to say they are 5/8" tall, with a 1/2" hole for the bolt and 3/4" in diameter to match the metal and rubber spacers that come with the lights. I'll verify that tomorrow
