Sounded like liquid gurgling, closer look it was the blender door

I thought I had an issue with the cooling system behind the dash due to what sounded like liquid equalizing the heating coils.
I looked behind the glove box and found what I believe is the blender door actuator with stripped gears.

Is this repairable or do I need to replace a part?

I've got the same issue. I've read enough to think it's the actuator, but can't find a clear answer on if replacing it requires a recalibration or not. I've seen it answered both ways. Anyone have any thoughts?
