Spare Tire question.

What are most people doing when they size up in tires.
Was most likely going to 295/70 18" on stock wheels.

Should I go with a 315/70 17" on Spare to be close, or just deal with spare being smaller in case i need to use it?
What did you do with your spare?

Already ordered the Tazer Lite since my wife upgraded the tires on her JLU and need to update the speedo.ANy gotcha's I have to worry about with that?I saw some reviews say they got used units that were already married to a vehicle, but I should be able to set up her Jeep, then unpair/unmarry it to her Jeep and install it on mine right?

Should've gone with the Tazer mini. You'll have to buy an unlock code if you marry it with a different vehicle than it's being used on.
I had Rubicon takeoffs that came with 5 same sized wheels and tires. Why not just buy 5 that are the same? Or if one is smaller, don't drive too long on it.

I went with 35x12.50 on stock wheels and its just fine. Same with the spare, I kept the steel wheel under.

The 295/70 18 has a height 34.3”
The 315/70 17 has a height of 34.36”
The 385/75 17 has a height of 33.84”.
I based the size purely on closest height.

Thank you for the tazer info, if that is the case I will not use it on the JLU and just the Gladiator.

as for takeoffs , I wouldn’t get the larger size tires unless I bought just 17” rims and also was trying to just get tires now on stock rims to save some money. No lift happening for at least 1 set of tires so maximizing looks of meatier tires for now until lift and larger tires are in the cards.

AHHHH yeah it slipped my mind that the Overland models have 18 inch wheels. Crazy they didnt put an 18 inch wheel on the spare. Seems pretty dumb to me. My suggestion would be if you were to keep 18 inch wheels then maybe go to a place like BAM or another MOPAR wholesaler and pick up an extra wheel for the spare tire.
