Spare tire winch alteration for small center hole aftermarket rims?

for those running aftermarket rims on their spare- has anyone altered the stock winch setup so that it’s got a thinner center bar (that is- one that will fit through most aftermarket rims’ smaller diameter center cap holes)?

Smaller hub hole?

Wheels with smaller than OEM would not fit on the axle hub anyways.

I think you're SOL. I don't think you can buy just the "Center Bar" and modifying it would probably cause it to fail.
