Steering wheel disassembly

First, great write up!
I am currently trying to swap out my steering wheel with an aftermarket version and I am currently stuck on the airbag removal portion, specifically the wiring on the back. I got the airbag yellow plugs very easily. However the one lower plug that is black in color is giving me an absolute fit. I don't want to break it. Any advice on unplugging that one? Thanks!

Sorry for the thread resurrection. It was ALMOST what I needed to know about removing the steering wheel. When you say disconnect the battery, do you mean just remove both grounds from the main battery or do you have to get at the aux battery and disconnect the cables there. Thanks in advance. That paint looks great by the way.
