Sting grey owners (future) check in

This is so odd. They must be prioritizing certain locations only. A dealer here in CT had me on hold for a few minutes while they looked into it with the sales manager, and even after telling them that I've seen people posting VIN status on sting grey, they still told me the system is only allowing the order to be placed, and that it still will not be in production for a couple months. Odd how either jeep is misleading their own dealerships, or how the dealerships are so misinformed of the reality of the situation.

I know next week is supposed to be the first date they paint them. So, we’re at least a couple weeks from seeing one

Yeah, I’m happy to have a Vin but I bet it sits at D status a while. And I truly think they forced us into bedliners to further delay the ship date. But who knows

Also you need a VON( vehicle order number) on the chat to get this info. It should be on the price order confirmation sheet when you build it at the dealership.

I agree with all this. Although the production is suppose to start the 24th, but I don’t have high hopes. I think we will be waiting a while.

This is exactly what I was thinking. Why force a completely separate process that is already knowingly delaying deliveries. I'll tell ya, I've never ordered a brand new vehicle before, and after seeing this shady sh*t FCA has been pulling, I probably never will again after this. From the lack of communication with their own dealerships, to the blatant disregard for customer care regarding LE customers, to the lack of preparedness making sure they have the proper parts and materials in stock for the builds. Horrible launch in my opinion. But, all this aside, still seems like a cool vehicle to own, so most of us stay loyal......for now. SMH.

You should have seen how Chevy rolled out the Cobalt several years ago. No, never mind, no one saw that. The thing is that it’s probably this way with most vehicles but no one notices because most people aren’t enthusiasts like us, and most vehicles aren’t this anticipated.

Where do you go to check on the status once you have a VON?
I'm hoping the tan goes well with the sting gray. I'm not a fan of black leather seats, would have preferred gray but tan will do.
Can anyone confirm ML-TV means tan leather?

As of this a.m. we have a VIN!
It’s currently in “D” status.
The very courteous Brenda on Jeep chat gave me the details.
I need to get on a computer and fill out that tracking form Jay put together. Can’t do on an IPhone very well.
Hopefully...not too many “hell” status bumps.
First world problems I know, but ya gotta have some fun.
