Hey folks, prospective Gladiator owner here. It's tough to find exactly what I want. One of my criteria is a black hard top rather than a body colored one. I think I've located the perfect Jeep except it has a body colored hard top.
Seems uncommon to go from body color to black. Most folks are asking about going the other way. I'm curious if anyone has done what I want to do, and what's the best way. I found a top for sale via Mopar, but it's primered for painting - would a factory black top be primered? Does that matter?
Also, any other gotchas I should be aware of when swapping hard tops? The Mopar listing says that I'll need a wiring kit for the rear window heat and wiper. But I assume that's only if the starting point is a soft top.
Thanks.
