Hi - thinking about buying some wheels and tires off of a 2022 Wrangier. My JT was built in 12/2020. I believe they’re not compatible, correct? To swap out TPMS’s you have to completely remount and balance the tires?

Thanks

The cut-off date is 6/07/2021. If the tire is not moved on the wheel, the TPMS sensor can be swapped without balancing again. I would want the tires balanced again after the swap.

No not compatible, change over was in 21MY. Not a JT vs JL thing either. You could actually swap late JK sensors with early JLs, its all year based on what FCA is doing at that time

Early model tire pressire monitor system is made by Schrader.

The new tire pressure monitor system is made by Continental. They are not the same.

I know for sure that the Schrader system will not pick up the Continental tire sensors. I am uncertain if the Continental tire pressure system will pick up on the Schrader tire sensors.

The sensors can be changed on a tire change machine without dismounting the tire or upsetting the balance.

When transferring my 2021 sensors to the new wheels - do they require any reprogramming or should they just work?

As long as they are the correct sensors for the vehicle, they should automatically be recognized once it starts moving.

Some people have reported problems with the sensors not being seen with some wheels. It is apparently a distance issue that affects the newer style (after 6/2021).
