The Icon spacer actually raises the swaybar mounting points on the axle. They used the old part description from the JL, where the rear swaybar is mounted to the Jeep frame.

Good catch here. Thank you.

Trying to run the simulation on this in my head. Can you see the steam coming out of my ears?

If my links are a few degrees upward, I imagine that raising the sway bar in this fashion would bring the links closer to parallel with the ground.

At this point Im debating on my options. I kinda want to install the damn things and just see what. it. does.

On the other hand, Im considering just returning them, getting some 1/2" thick aluminum or mild steel bar and just drilling some holes for the fasteners to thread through, just make a simple spacer and be done with it.

Need to get under the truck again and test fit the skid again, recalibrate my thought process here..

OKAY. SO.

Here is the before and after on the icon spacers for anyone who is curious. The angle of my sway bar went from just above parallel to parallel.. I think. The difference in angle is negligible, if any. Don't have an angle gauge on hand, my bad.

The links themselves have a bit more angle to them but I think that'll be fine.

That said, I should have plenty of space between the sway bar and axle for the DV8 skid to fit in now. Will follow up on that with pictures when I get it done.

Doesn't look like an issue. I get what you were talking about now. Maybe get some LCA skids also while you're at it. ;)

Right? I'm going to try to make some lower shock mount skids out of 3/16 steel and see how it goes. Those and LCA skids are next on the list. Thanks!

Skid plate is on!

Longer fasteners and coupling nuts as spacers allowed me to clear the flanges on the axle and secure the side mounting brackets.

Gonna get down there again in a hundred miles or so and look for rubbing, wear etc but I think I'm good.
