So I have never heard of swivel frames before but ... Jeep needs to make this. I don't care how awesome Ford thinks their Sasquatch package will be, or how fast the cybertruck will be, or how high you jack your JT a swivel frame provides something that blows all of that away. Better than lambo doors and more useful that being able to jump your raptor/trx/mojave (well maybe not the mojave ? but still...). I may be the only one but I think Jeep needs to figure this out and show it at the next auto show-orama-extravaganza. Heck they can even make it with a lockout switch so that you can only swivel in 4L, and then TAZER can provide an update to their mini allowing you to swivel in 2H at 80mph cause 'merica.

But seriously - what do you think - cool gladiator mod? or not

I’m afraid there wouldn’t be much swivel left by the time the NHTSA got done with it.

Imagine there were electronically actuated locking pins that prevented articulation from the factory unless you were in 4L. That technology exists. Disconnected sway bar at road speeds is probably not that safe but just fine for off road (driver assumes the risk...).

Notice how none of the actual suspension really articulates? Only that swivel taking up all the difference between the front and rear axle twist. Maybe add "terrain sensing" and have it powered so that it reacts before the actual obstacle... and end up like the low-rider hydraulics running with one front wheel in the air, at 80mph, on Tail of the Dragon in NC... NHTSA for sure!
