I finally installed my Synergy track bar and sector shaft brace. Everything is top quality and installed myself alone in a few hours. Had a few challenges and I feel like I spent the day at the gym. 180 foot pounds on the sector shaft nut is not easy. The frame and track bar area is now very solid. There can be no flex in that area now. I do have one question. If the brace is not perfect and applies any side force on the sector shaft, could that cause a leak or bearing wear on the sector shaft? It wouldn't take much off to put a strain on it. I might give Synergy a call about that. Wondering if anyone has had any issues after the install.

Doesn't seem like it should be an issue. Per the instructions, you are tightening up the steering box bolts before installing the brace. As long as the two bolts that hold the brace in place thread in easily after torquing the steering box bolts, then it should capture the sector shaft "in-place" and prevent any movement. Just my thoughts.

All bolts went in per instructions but it would not be possible to feel a slight amount of pressure on the sector shaft caused by the brace. That entire area is now like a solid chunk of steel.

If there was some unequal forces it probably would cause premature wear but the sector shaft bearing likely would go before the gearbox. However, for this reason I opted to not install the bearing when installing the steer smarts sector shaft brace. I only wanted to add some support to the frame and gearbox without worrying about the bearing. There have been a handful of people here with that bearing wearing out after only a couple years and it's not a fun job to replace.

I guess it would still be a good mod even without the sector shaft bearing support. The frame in that area is now solid.
