While I'm lucky enough to not have rolled my Jeep, had more than a few close calls riding shotgun with my old man.

Just a little too much camber, a bump, and our 98 Dakota was on it's driver side wheels. Luckily my dad had the sense to turn towards the direction we rolling and I just slammed the seat really hard when we landed. As a kid I thought it was really cool, now 20 years later and I realized why my dad was freaked out. Didn't help that we had no cage or any other real safety gear back then.

Also, something that my uncle has told me, "Rolling your Jeep is like dropping your Harley, there are those that have, and those that will eventually". Just crossing my fingers that he's wrong on that one!

About 20 years ago, I was peacefully minding my own business on a two lane highway. I was driving ~60 in a 55mph in the passing lane. As I was passing a car, they aggressively cut into my lane and were going to clip the front half of my YJ. I instinctively swerved so they didn’t hit me.

Well, I avoided them but got into some loose gravel on the shoulder. I ended up spinning 180 degrees and hit a guard rail. My jeep flopped right over the guardrail and came to rest upside down. I had to push off the top(ground) to get my seatbelt unbuckled.

In the end:

1. The police gave me a ticket for failing to stay in my lane.
2. Penndot sent me a bill for the guardrail.
3. Insurance totaled the jeep (which I bought back and rebuilt).

This was in my 2003 Grand Cherokee Laredo about 7 years ago.

I was driving to work (Rutgers University) one day. I was taking a new (to me) blood pressure med. I got about a mile from work and started to feel woozy. I couldn't pull over because I was in a construction area. So, I started doing that fighter pilot thingy of compressing my stomach and pushing things upward to force blood to my brain. I Figured if I got onto the road leading to work, I could just pull over, slam it into park, then sit there for a minute or two and recover.

Well, I did make the turn onto the road but, passed out before I could get off to the side. I went around 1/3 of a mile out cold. My Jeep then proceeded to bounce off a wooden guard rail (golf course on other side) and then into the edge a drainage basin. Came up out of it, and hit a clump of River Birch trees (VERY flexible and springy). They caused my Jeep to flip over on it's roof into a parking lot, just missing a couple of cars parked there.

Well, one of the maintenance guys happened to see it all, came over and cut my seat belt and dragged me out. Also called campus 911 who sent an ambulance to take me to the hospital. At that point I had zero clue as to what happened, just knew I hurt my Jeep...I was more concerned about it than myself

After 4 days in the hospital and lotsa testing (they couldn't figure out why I passed out and, didn't believe me when I told them it was my BP meds...my BP is usually 170/98-100 and in the ER it was 100/60...body wasn't used to it that low but they don't listen...not being an MD Dr., WTF do I know...idiots ?:LOL::LOL:), I went back to work and spent half the day answering all kinds of questions from co-workers who saw it all :facepalm::facepalm:

Almost 2 years ago, I was driving up a two lane highway at about 50 mph, on my way to a deer hunt. My jeep was on 35s with a 3.5" lift... and pretty floaty. I must have looked down for a second, and drifted over the white line where there was no shoulder. My tire caught gravel and fishtailed the Jeep. I overcorrected and ended up going off the left side of the road right into a drainage ditch. The back end flipped over the front end, in what must have been a very dramatic somersault, and I landed back on the wheels. The front axle blew off completely.

Fortunately I was wearing my seatbelt and walked away with nothing but a bruised shoulder.

After almost widowing my wife with a brand new baby, I told myself that I wouldn't get another Jeep. I drove a Tacoma for a year.. but here I am ?

The deal with the wife on this one, though, is that the suspension stays stock. So I bought a Mojave and am loving it!
