I'm pretty handy. I'm wondering if anyone can provide input on how difficult this would be.

The panel appears to be perfectly flat. I'll probably put it on when the cap is disassembled so I get nice clean edges.

Any suggestions for brand and seller would be appreciated.

I'm doing this because I'll be hauling my dog around in it pretty regularly and based on the height of the Gladiator, nobody will see the top.

I'd use a RV roof product if it was me.... brush it, roll it on or spray it. You can even get it with ceramic in the product for heat reflection. I have applied to metal surfaces before. Works well.

As in vinyl wrap? Oracal is probably the best option, I think its called. There are 2-3 really good brands that the pros use, iirc. There might be more, but only a couple really good wraps.

It's relatively easy on flatter surfaces. I've done vinyl on windows and some big graphics on our racecars - not full wraps - and as long as you take time it's not too difficult. Start with a really clean surface.

For something this big, divide in two. If your vinyl is one large piece, leave excess over all the edges, and tape it down the center (vertical or horizontal, doesn't matter). Flip one side over the other and remove the backing paper to the midpoint. Cut and remove the backing paper so it's not in the way.

Start applying the vinyl, starting from the center and working outward (just like painting a floor). Don't press too hard or stretch it, that will introduce wrinkles and bubbles.

Do the other side.

With something this big, a second set of hands (and arms) help. If no help available, use the soapy water trick (below).

Good vinyl can be applied and pulled up without too much issue. Older stuff would stretch if you pulled it up.

*The other trick you can do is put soapy water in a spray bottle and spray down the surface as you apply the wrap. The soapy water will allow the vinyl the ability to move around in case you have some bubbles or creases you need to get rid of. Highly recommended to start with this process if you've never done vinyl before.

Squeegee the water out from the center. A heat gun and sharp X-acto knife or pin for any bubbles you may have missed.
