Hello, new to this forum, but not new to forums. My second JL/JT. Thought I’d air this for info only.
4 days old, 215 miles on the clock. Did it when I drove it home the first day. I have a “thrumming” low frequency vibration that resonates in the cab. Comes in at about 54mph and is gone at 61mph.
JT Rubicon with wildpeak AT. 37psi. Auto Trans.
I thought it was the road when I drove it before purchase.
I have a new set of JLU Rubicon KO2,s I’m gonna throw on to rule out tires/wheels. It’s definitely related to driveline rotation. Does it coasting in neutral.
I believe an educated guess would be it’s coming from or through the rear drive shaft. The double cab Tacomas had a similar issue and it typically was the 2 piece rear shaft. Center bearing was replaced and an isolator kit was provided for those with the issue.
Love the truck. Coming from a long history of Toyota and older GM trucks.
Not a big deal. Dealership is concerned and wants to look at it. Turn on the tunes and I don’t hear it ha!
edit: I had a 2000 S-10 Blazer that had a similar sound. It got bought back after 8 or so trips to the dealer. It ended up being that the rear diff pinion bearing input was machined off-center putting a side load on the pinion bearing. We’ll see
