I keep about 1000 of my favorite 70s songs on a thumb drive that I keep plugged into the USP port in the center console. Jeep has been sitting for 2 days. This morning I went out to the garage to remove the drive to add some more music (the new Stones album is really good).
When I pulled out the drive I noticed it was hot. Not burn you hot, but very warm.
Any ideas on this?
Thanks for your time,

USB drives do generate some heat when being used. Plus, if ambient air in the Jeep is hot, the drive will also be hot. They tend to absorb ambient heat. If it's just warm, then it's really nothing to worry about until it's at a hot enough temperature that causes damage.

Thanks sharpsicle, has not been in use for 2 days although it has been plugged in. I am in Florida but it was 63deg in the garage when I got the drive out this morning. Just seems wierd it would be so warm.
