By using clamps, the bumper can be secured well enough to allow you take your time and place the bolts. The neighbors will appreciate the absence of adult language.

Damn, wish I had read this yesterday. I installed mine solo but it was such a pain in the ass. I would have went and bought the clamps. Great idea. Is the control box on your winch mounted tight? I have the same winch and the grille stopped me from putting the clamps on. It sits in there tight for now but I am going to have to do something else.

damn the clamps are such a good idea. Will need to remember that If i ever need to get inside mine.

I have the same or similar winch and ended up mounting my control box off to the right inside the bumper due to how much the stock mounting things were pissing me off. came out looking really clean

Solution!

I modified my controlbox brackets to move it forward just enough to avoid contact.
