The key difference between the JSCAN & the Tazer is that if you have to take you JT to the dealership you have to unmarry the Tazer and you lose all the settings. If you are taking it to the dealership for warranty issues that have to do with the powertrain they pull the ECU data and if the tire size doesn't match what is on the vehicle the warranty can get denied. At least that is what my dealership told me. I trust my dealership as my JT is highly modified and they have no issues doing any warranty work on it. I switched to JSCAN for those modifications. The one thing I can't get JSCAN to do is the LED lights for some reason.

You do realize that as far as things like tire size goes, JSCAN makes the same changes the Tazer does. So if they were denying warranty based on tire size data in the ECU, you are actually better off with the tazer, because when you marry the tazer, it stores a backup of ALL your current (presumably stock oem) settings, and when you unmarry it, all those setting are restored.
Also, if your dealer is as cool with mods as you say, you do not *have* to unmarry and remove the tazer, just enable pass-thru mode and they can still run diagnostics. (yes, the longer explanation is unmarry is still a good idea in case they flash the computer and make changes for some reason)
Best combo if you have both Jscan and a tazer is to first use jscan to make the changes it can do, and THEN install and marry your tazer. That way if you unmarry it, the only settings you lose are for live features jscan and other programmers can not do.

The tazer wouldn't be better because it would restore the STOCK settings. So if you are running 40s and you unmarry the tazer and take it in then the ECU says you are running 33s and have 40s and you are there for a engine or transmission warranty claim it can get denied. If you use JSCAN it doesn't matter. The tazer won't erase those settings. Sure you can enable pass-through mode. My dealer said I could do that but I prefer to just remove it so there are zero chances that it becomes an issue but to each their own.

I guess I miss-read what you were trying to say in the prior post.
However, I will point out that the reason for unmarrying the Tazer is because some dealers might deny a warranty claim BECAUSE they see non-dealer changes from the OEM programing. Heck, dealers are probably more likely to deny an engine or trans warranty because of the 40s under it than because the tire size isn't calibrated right.
But, If your personal concern is the programming not matching your mods, then simply remove the tazer without unmarrying it. You only lose the live features, all your programming changes like tire size and gear ratio stay, just like with jscan.

I was just relying the information that my dealership told me about the programing but I know every dealership is different. You can leave the Tazer married and just removed but the instructions say to unmarry and remove it prior to taking it to a dealership. I prefer to err on the side caution when dealing with the dealerships even if they are cool with mods. It only takes one bad apple to ruin it for you.
