Anyone here flat tow their Jeep Gladiator Rubicon and if you do, do you disconnect the batteries? Yes there are two.

user manual doesn't say anything about the batteries, just the xfer case and transmission requirements.

The online version of the Mopar Gladiator Manual does.

Why would you disconnect the batteries, then the lights would not work?
Cheers

The DUO brake system works off the tow vehicle, not the toad and also that is what the Mopar website manual says to do. I think it is a mistake, because other owners tow with batteries connected. A lot of unnecessary confusion.

I tow mine. No battery disconnect, but I do have the Genesis dual battery system. Maximus 3 tow loops with a Blue Ox tow bar.

I have a brand new Blue Ox system in the garage just awaiting install. It has the Stay N Play Duo braking system with it. As right now I have no intention of disconnecting the batteries. Correct me if I am wrong.

Can you reference a page number or something?
I forgot to mention the owners manual included with my Gladiator Rubicon does not have the “disconnect battery” line.
It’s a puzzlement.

To flat tow with the transfer case in neutral, disconnect the negative battery cable, this puzzling to me. Wonder why, and are they referring only to the starting battery, or the auxiliary batter's negative cable also?

The only reason to disconnect the battery is to prevent a drain on the toad while towing. But the lights are operated by the motorhome and you don't need the key to be on so unless you have an auxiliary braking system that runs off the Jeep's battery, there is no drain. Your motorhome will have a charge line if it has the 7 pin standard RV connector socket so you can simply run that 12 volt line to your Jeep battery and the coach will keep it charged while towing. Just be sure to put a circuit breaker on the Jeep side or install a toad charge like the RVI Towed Battery Charger. I use the M&G 2.0 system which utilizes the coach's air brakes to operate the Jeep brakes proportionally. But I still use the RVI charger to prevent backfeeding because I do operate the Jeep's 12 volt vacuum pump off the charge line when plugged in. The pump keeps the brake booster charged so that the M&G system can operate the brake pedal properly.

What kind of rig are you towing behind?
