Hi, I am wondering which is better for installing a tonneau bed cover: clamps, or brackets? I see many covers are installed using clamps that clamp to the truck bed side rails. And some covers are installed with metal brackets that screw into the bed. It seems like the screwed-in type would be more secure and robust, what do you think?
I was hoping to spend around $800 for a hard, folding tonneau cover, but haven't found one that screws in with brackets.
I am hoping to find a cover that also has rods to prop it up (open).
Am I looking for something that doesn't exist at that price point? Should I get a cover with clamps for install because they're good enough (stop overthinking it)?
I saw this cover is recommended here, and it has the rods to hold it open as well as a drain system. It seems nice, but, I worry about using clamps for installation, since this is something I will have installed for the life of the truck: https://www.roughcountry.com/product/jeep-flip-up-bed-cover-49620500
Thoughts on clamps vs. brackets?
Thank you!
