Picked up the JT today. Spent some time going over the work order with the tech.

Basically he found Error 1 through Error 4 logged in the Wireless Antenna Control sub-module in the BCM. He told me that he suspects if I had waited at least two hours with no power to the rig that it would have righted itself.

The JT was towed to their shop on 1/2/25 and the service ticket was created on 1/8/25. So it sat in their lot for at least 5 days.

He cleared the errors and over the next several workdays they opened the rig with the key fob, started the rig, ran it, then shut it down. The alarm was silent and there was no problem operating the vehicle.

The curious thing is that he cleared the errors almost a week after the incident occurred with NO POWER to the JT at all. Everything was disconnected when it was towed. So, those errors survived a total power down that lasted much longer than two (2) hours.

I had no way to scan the vehicle's BCM nor clear the errors. With 4 errors still in that sub-module the potential for a repeat performance cannot be ignored. Then I'd have to tow that SOB again.

So while I appreciate the service, the story I was told has some holes in it.

On the way home I got a message on the EVIC that said the fob battery was low. WTF? So they didn't check that. I took care of that issue when I got home.

I swear.... dealers these days ....

Anyway, it's good to have the JT home and I am pretty sure I know how to avoid a repeat occurrence.

Damn, that definitely starts a distrust of things. My SWAG was trailer wiring or battery giving it up. I had a fob battery die, one wouldn't even start by using the fob to push button, setting off the horn and lights I had to replace both fob's batteries.
Damn getting close to about the same time to do that again.

Use quality batteries for the key fobs. Cheap ones were not working for us.

May be time to change the vehicle batteries as well. Weak starter and aux batteries can cause all kinds of nasty things.
