Undercarriage mystery pieces???

Was installing my Nfab side steps today at my local jeep shop & we noticed a couple things that were puzzling & was hoping maybe someone here may know the answer to these pieces & what they are used for,here are the pictures

first pic is a bracket for a shock absorber to dampen axle hop, second picture is a differential locator for really compressed suspension. ( second is just a guess but have seen it on other vehicles)?

Couldn’t believe the the rust starting already & I only have 1800kms (Canada) so I’m going to clean it up and get it oil sprayed ASAP
