Back in 2023, I had completed (at the time) the Gladiator build, enough to do Moab at EJS. later that year I did the Jeep Jamboree Texas Spur Bonus and was blown away at the level of difficulty. I actually got more rash there than in Moab, and had to take several by-passes. The guides are absolutely amazing, and if it wasn't for them, no way would many of us make it through. The trails are rated 8-9, among the most difficult of all the events, rumored to be even more difficult than the Rubicon Trail, ...but Jeep won't say that.
So, here I am back to do it again. Fresh off the SEMA show, and with new Currie 60's, 5:38 gears and Mickey Thompson 40's ready to challenge it yet again. Drove there, wheeled for 2 days and drove back home. Success! I did have an issue which I will post about in the technical forum (hope to get some answers) with the transmission either popping out of gear and/or engine turning off on hard bumps. But other than that, the JT did extremely well. And whoever says Texas doesn't have good off-roading or rock crawling hasn't been here.
Hope you enjoy the pics!
