I'd also like to get up to Jericho at some point and try it out. I'm in that same "have a Jeep, need a winch" category. I've got the Rubicon stubby bumper with winch plate, time to just bit the bullet and get a HF 12k.

OFR is still open, but that gatekeeper rock about 100ft in has grown awfully big in the last few years with the dirt base in front getting dug out/washed away. A friend of mine just did it with his JTM Mojave with the 2" AEV spacer lift and 37s, so its doable.
I seem to remember going around it on the left, but that was pretty dicey too. Then while we were picking our way around a guy in a beat up CJ7 just drove in and up and over it without any hesitation.

This was me on that rock Circa 2013 in my YJ.

I'll have to dig around, I watched a mini-series on YouTube that was a bunch of West Coast guys that wheeled a lot of the New England trails in built JLs and JTs.

Looking at some Class IV roads up in Vermont for a long weekend in April. Anybody out there with experience on Woodbury Mountain or Belvidere Mountain road? I'm in a JTR on 35s and my buddy has a 4Runner on 31s, so looking for moderate thrills, I guess.

a little late to this party but as of August this year, Woodbury rd. and Belvidere mountain road were open. just be respectful because the surrounding area is all private.

We did a week trip on class 2 - class 4 roads in vt this summer. one of the class 4 roads we did ended up leading us right through someone's front lawn, part of the road, but still felt very odd. just tried to keep it as quiet and peaceful till the rig was through.

I get that... My favorite trail in WV is surrounded by posted property. You see people trespassing (mostly SxS riders for whatever reason), and it makes me worry that the road will get gated at some point.

I have had this experience with NH class VIs a couple of times. You come out of a forgotten back road right in somebody's yard. I just hope they're inside watching TV and give them a smile and wave if they're not.

We should have N E Gladiator this spring / summer

For reference:

I ran Jericho closing weekend this fall, I was in Berlin for my son's hockey game My 2023 (Bought new as a left over in May 2024) Max Tow (it has a LSD) is stock minus the winch and front bumper.

I was only told If you are alone you need a winch and a tree strap..So I put caution to the wind and ran the Easy trail ...
I had to bang my way through and on one climb get out and stack a few rocks. I did not have to pull any line, I did need to make a second attempt more then once.
I will say I am a very seasoned wheeler ( i have a Buggy as well) so there was some Brake / throttle finesse and good sight lines needed.

I also walked the other trails and they would be very fun / challenging for a JTR with lift and tires.

once the garage warms up I have a lift in Boxes, getting Ruby Flares and plan 37's
