Looks like it could have been worse. I have heard of them coming thru the windshield inside the vehicle.
That happened to a buddy of mine who drives an 18 wheeler. Fortunately it was the passenger side windshield or things could have been way worse. Maybe I can find the pic he sent.

I was working the flightline at Cannon AFB when an F111 hit a goose. The bird broke the radome(nose cone) off the jet and went through the wind screen. It broke the copilot collar bone. The plexiglass wind screen resealed and left only a crack. There was blood and feathers everywhere.

They always hover right over the same spot on the highway on my bus route. If only they just got little more air when they cross. One took out a co workers destination sign on the bus once too. Sorry about the jeep.

People hit turkeys? ? Sorry about your windshield but the idea of hitting a turkey is just hilarious to me, I’ve never heard anyone having this issue.

I own a gas station on I-71 in KY. A few years ago, I had a couple come in driving a Cadillac CTS-V that had just hit a turkey that was gliding down off the roost across the interstate. It busted the whole windshield out and bent the friggin' a-pillar.

They can. Just not very well, very long, very far, or very high. They are pests around here.
Where? I have 2 PA Turkey Tags to fill starting April 30. Happy to help reduce the pest population!!!!!

Nice. I’ll have to check this areas out! Unchecked Foxes and Coyotes and urban/suburban sprawl seem to be killing our Turkey broods in SE PA - 5C in Chester, Berks, Montgomery, Bucks, Delaware Counties.

Don't underestimate the number of nests/eggs that raccoons destroy too.

ya im just glad he only hit the glass and not any of the sheet metal or grill.

im going to think that after he ran into the woods he died of internal bleeding and some racoons or skunks are eating him

Could have been far worse. Could have been a deer. Years ago in the business, we had a Mazda 626 come into the body shop with a deer hit to the windshield. But it wasn't the usual broken glass. It came through the glass into the vehicle, breaking the passenger seat back, buckling the roof sheet metal and rested onto the back seat and rear deck (breaking the rear glass as well). Deer hair and crap was everywhere inside. Luckily there was only the driver in the car. If there were other passengers, it would have been really bad.

The vehicle was a total loss.

I never met the driver of the car as it was just an insurance tow in, but I would assume that the deer wasn't the only one who crapped.

My '90 Nissan Hardbody 4x4 - 1 deer. My '99 Dodge 1500 4x4 - 3 deer. My '08 Ram Power Wagon - 7 deer. I'm hoping Zero for my JTRD.
