I saw you posted the 2020, (i have a gobi max 2020 also), but do remember that if you do a 2020, you will likely have the aluminum silver steering gear that there is a TSB for. I would try to talk them into getting the steel upgrade one before you take delivery.
Not saying all of them are bad, as I am one of the lucky ones and mine seems ok, but I will eventually try to get mine swapped, just because.

hhmmm I was thinking i read that the rubi axles were 1.5" (or so) wider. I dunno

yes, max tow, rubi have wider Dana 44 axles.

Sometimes you can from what I believe. If they want your business they will do what they can. Sometimes they will do trades on inventory also.

Quite often dealers can and will do inventory swap. I had lots of them trying to find exactly what I wanted. Ended up ordering cause like you I found either base models or hard loaded.

Sorry, not a 4.10. Mine came with posi traction, heated seats, 8” display, paint matched fenders, remote start, tinted glass, and 32’s on 17” rims. And probably more stuff I haven’t discovered yet.

Im building one now on their site. I thought they didnt come with dana 44's and I was like no way do I want a 30/35 in a Gladiator. So maybe that knowledge will open some doors.

From my experience this can work - but you lose some bargaining power. The dealer that has it knows they have a sale so they won't trade it cheaply, then your dealer knows you want this one specifically bad enough you want them to swap. Gives them just a slight advantage while negotiating cause they see less of a chance you will walk because you want that specific one.

That is def something I want. but in the aftermarket world I am sure there are options for switch boxes if I couldnt find it.
