This was a while ago. This thread hits near and dear to me since we are mid trip to the Jeep Jamboree in Silver Valley (Idaho).
We just completed leg 1 from Henderson, NV to Priest Lake, ID., 1,147 miles (16.5 hours) and my Avg MPG is 19.5.
Stock JT Rubicon, freeway speeds varied from 65 to 70 to 80 and I typically go 5 over. I’d guess 4 people and luggage/gear to be about 625ish pounds. ODO is now at 4,511.
Now with 2“ lift, 35’s and bed rack (130ish lbs) I think my best score is now 15.1. I’m currently playing with always using adaptive cruise to see if it’s worth the effort.
The thought had crossed my mind to pick up a throttle controller but only to retard (I believe this is an unoffensive use of the word - if offense was taken you might be looking to hard at things to be offended by) the throttle and trick my heavy foot. I guess I could potentially save $200 in gas driving around lIke my JT is broken but what is the fun in that?
