Made an appointment to get the right rear axle assembly replaced again on the dealers dime.

Picked it up last Tuesday and by Thursday it was leaked 3 times worse then when I dropped it off originally 3 weeks ago.

Why they chose to replace the whole right rear axle assembly instead of the seal is beyond me......but, ok waste that sweet warranty money

I can’t understand why they thought replacing a shaft would help with a leak.

drove again this morning. 1 finger on the wheel at 90 mph (in mexico)
tracks straight as an arrow and could not care less about road crown or expansion joints

gearing seems to be absolutely perfect

Needs a rear upper spring change and a valving adjustment up front.
After that all thats left to do is the new grill, tighten all the jamb nuts, wire up winch & 2 pair of lights. Caster feels perfect. Its not darty or lazy with steering imput and responds immediately to lane changes.

turning radius is surprisingly great given the width. A lot of that has to do with with the excellent Ackerman angle and the broad sweep afforded by the kingpins.

also zero nose dive under emergency braking. That is perhaps the most impressive part of the handling.

Got me.

a $10 seal vs. a whole axle assembly.

pretty exhausted after this week so I thought I’d pretend for a minute before calling it a night. Obviously a perspective issue making the tire look bigger and the tires behind it are 37s so the Jeep will be about 3 1/2 inches taller when these are mounted.

edit its also my bad because I was going to put a little piece of blue vinyl where those letters are cut out on the rockers skins, but I forgot about it and now they’re stuck. That’s all part of this. I suppose I think it still looks good, but it would’ve been better if it was blue.

I think the easy button here would be to mask off the skin and spray some blue plasti dip on the letters. I think that would work pretty well.
Versus trying to inset some vinyl and cut it without cutting your paint.

I haven’t personally, but I looked into it for a project and it sounds insanely easy.
Unless you just spray paint, but even with the skins on I wouldn’t feel right spray painting my gladiatoršŸ˜‚

Installed the Fusion 4x4 2.5 ton steering upgrade. Definitely need an alignment even though all the measurements were identical. Steering wheel is a tad bit off. One thing that came up which I didn't do was cut the brake sheet metal dust thingy. I doubt it but it could have caused the service traction control code. Ya never know.
