Thermal insulation and finally the CoverKing liner. The thermal insulation part is where you really need to take your time and don’t mess it up. Once that stuff is stuck, it’s stuck. This is also the main purpose behind the project so getting it right is slightly important. The less gaps between the sheets the better the insulation value of the melamine foam.

Wish I could say the CoverKing fit like a glove, but it did not. It’s probably because I added a lot more material to the top but everything did not line up like it was supposed to. I will say the materials used are of a high quality and way better than I could have done on my lonesome. I just had to go and do the Jeep thing and make it “better”. A little nip and tuck with a carpet cutter and I’m pleased with the results.

Yesterday I said goodbye to the 2021 Sport S Max Tow. She was a good truck and put almost 100K miles on it in about 4-1/2 years. Body and interior still almost perfect. Original batteries, original brakes, 2nd set of tires. No repairs or problems except the TSB for the loose ball joints early on. Nothing but normal maintenance. Nothing fancy... just oem fliters and Pennzoil Platinum on the factory recommended schedules. I hope the new JTR is just as reliable.

It's supposedly headed to a dealer in Troy, NY. Be interested to see if it ever shows back up in the forum.

Retired. Finally !!
Started putting in rock lights using disk magnets I got off Amazon. Them magnets grab !! Like pinch-your-finger-if-it's-in-the-way grab. Question for others that tied them into the cargo lights.

I haven't gotten that far yet, still running wire toward the back. I'm anal with that stuff; running wire. I could hide a fat joint in the Pope's hat. My question is how did you get the wire to the cargo light ? Or did you just tie into it some where else ? I plan on using Posi-Taps for the connection, I figured the driest place, the better.

If my old brain remembers correctly, I believe I tied mine in under the back passenger side of the truck bed where the wires ran up to the bed light.

Stuck some Rock Krawler 2.25” shocks under mine, my rock sports were tired. I was debating between these, blowing double to get Kings, or trying something totally different. Summit threw the RK’s on sale for 550 from 1100 so it was worth a shot to see how I liked them. If they suck, I’ll just do kings next time I’m due.

Testing bump stop and shock length.

Mine actually has the factory thumper behind the rear seat in the center.
Yours thumps? Hmm mm. Mine might not be working. In fact its never really thumped. Gotta take a look at it now that its warmed up.

I didn’t buy any yet. I paid $27 for the same cheap OEM wipers one year ago. Used them 3 times. I walked out on principal knowing I will have to pay $47 this time around and they will be destroyed by the dry heat in about a year. I told the parts guy that I will just buy some the next time we are expecting rain.
Funny, same as you I was shocked at the quoted price at the parts counter for original wipers. I actually think they perform great and they last up here for me in Nrw England.

I expressed my shock to the parts guy and asked If there was anything he could do on the price. He applied some coupon and I got a deal. He seemed embarrassed at the asking price too. Never hurts to ask.....

Thanks !!

My intent was to string both sides individually; down driver side frame to cargo light, same on passenger, to avoid running wires across the vehicle and creating possible snag points.

Right now I'm creating my own wiring harness; going overboard as I always do. Sheathing, soldering, butt splices, heat shrink tubing, so on and so forth. Even considering putting in an inline blade fuse. For four cheap-ass step lights. It's an illness, it really is.

I've tried other more expensive ones and they don't always fit well. If these fit like OEM then I'm fine with that. I've never needed anything special here in the desert. In Texas, we had bugs the size of e of birds. Here we barely have any which has been a nice side benefit.
True statement.

One year, my buddy from Long Island came to visit. While driving, we heard a loud TING on the windshield. He goes, "Oh man, did you just catch a rock ?", I chuckled, pointed to the splatter on the windshield, said, "Nope. Big ass bug. Welcome to Texas.".

Yeah living in the desert I rarely have bugs which is amazing. 3” of rain last year. I remember driving in Texas at night. I don’t miss it at all and won’t ever go back. Give me the dry heat.
