Well I tried to install a sun shade that was supposed to fit my 2026 JT but clearly wasn’t tested on a 2026 JT as there are several ways in which it doesn’t fit. (More on that lately depending on how things go with customer service.)

Then I installed some basic grab handles that don’t block the side air bags on the roll bars:

And lastly she got a set of front and rear mud-flaps:

Been there done that with the sunshades……. I think the difference is in the side curtain airbags. I ended up buying a Spiderwebshade. I installed it last summer and it’s been on ever since.

I originally wanted something that was somewhat ‘waterproof’ (vinyl) kinda like the old YJ bikini tops. But…..I tried at least 3 different ones that I ended up returning. 🤷‍♀️

Y'know what's even easier ?

Telling the service advisor at Jeep, "I need an oil change.".
Until they crack your filter housing with a power tool, and/or spill oil all over the engine. And that’s after they over tightened your drain plug.

No dealer will ever touch my jeep for something like an oil change. They’re likely to do more harm than good.

For me it was an OEM foam seal between the top of the windshield and the top of the roll bars.

No way to feed the bungee cords around the top of the roll bar without either folding down the windshield or cutting / damaging the OEM foam seal which I didn’t really want to do.

The rear speakers / roll bar between the front and rear seats also seems way wider than was designed for the sunshade bungees and so I couldn’t wrap them around the speaker roll bar as they weren’t long enough.

Just frustrating after doing research and buying something that was supposed to fit. It was a nice sun shade with a molle panel and a storage bag in the middle too. Would have been handy.

Might check out Spiderwebs.

Very, very legitimate concerns, ones that I have every time. So far, all is well. But I DO check every time before I roll out.

I keep my engine bay spotless; it's the USMC in me.... So much so that after my last oil change the kid, um...sorry, the "tech" came up to tell me to tell me about it and how he put "extra care" in not dribbling oil anywhere....and showed me as proof. I thanked him then thought to myself, "shouldn't that be standard ? Not making a mess of a customers vehicle ?".

My Dad had a theory, one of many. He said if you bring your car in all filthy, crap all over the inside, etc., the mechanic will have the impression that you don't care about the car, so HE won't be as careful; basic human nature, you don't care, why should I ? Right or wrong, it is what it is.

Attitude really does go a long way. My wife at one time drove a Grand Cherokee. I took it in for an oil change. It was taking a while, I asked what was up. The tech came back and said he noticed her catalytic converter had a crack in it, he was replacing it. I did the "WHAT ?!?!". At the time I was strapped for cash, I could NOT afford this. He saw the look on my face, smiled and said, "No charge. I called CarMax (where we bought it 6 months prior) told them being you just bought it, they said to replace it under federal warranty. No charge to you. I thought the replacement was going to be quicker, sorry.".

When he was finished, I went and bought a case of beer. Dropped it off, told him thanks for the extra effort. He didn't want to take it, he'd get in trouble. I saw his boss, told him, he told the guy, "Put it in your car. NOW.", then thanked me for being so kind, all people do is complain.

I was treated like a king thereafter.

I make it a point to meet the service dude after each oil change, I ask for his name, shake his hand and thank him then make small talk for a few seconds. He gets to know the person behind the wheel, not just the vehicle. It really does matter. Especially on the next visit. He sees my Jeep, scans for me, then waves and smiles as he takes it away.

You get treated the way you treat others.

Funny, I forgot they were in the picture. They were supposed to be a surprise for the wifey to see in person and then after I showed her the grab handle pics last night she was like “Ooo, nice shroom floor mats!”. 😂

I got them off of Amazon and they checked boxes for my love of the color green and mushrooms! Link below:

I also do not trust them to understand that I have upgraded to the Baxter adapter and have to explain what it is and how to evacuate the oil from the filter and what filter it takes and why its there to correct the faulty design in the cartridge filter from Jeep. SO it will always be something I just do myself and hopefully I can make the 3.6 last much longer than most.

Or they put 6 quarts in a 3.6
That was a thing back in 2019 2020, idk if they still make that mistake, that was the last time I took a freebie from them
